Our research encompasses the field of Virtual Patient Informatics. Our highly respected researchers and technicians painstakingly analyze the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in healthcare. The parameters of our research reach far and wide, spanning from work practice studies of the effects of ICT to the use and development of technical standards.

Our research projects have been conducted in cooperation with the most respected specialists in the field, including researchers from the Karolinska Institute; Örebro University; IT-University in Gothenburg; Oslo University; VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland; the University of Oulu; the University of Lapland; the University of Kuopio; the University of Turku; the University of Pisa; and the London School of Economics.

Some of the recent topics our researchers have been investigating include:

  1. The gradual rollout of a new ICT technology and related methods that may incrementally pave the way towards Virtual Patient Informatics.
  2. New healthcare service processes aimed at improving information flow and efficiency, resulting in a higher quality patient care.
