“Health Gateway linked to the Mawell S7 self-care solution is a new kind of channel for the transfer of patient data, which speeds up and facilitates the monitoring of measurements performed outside hospital. With this solution, diabetics, for example, can monitor their blood-sugar values, by measuring them regularly at home. The data is transferred from the measuring device by infrared or Bluetooth connection to a cell phone, which sends it on to the data system. Using this system, the data is automatically available to both the patient and the physician in real-time. “New measuring devices for home use, such as blood pressure- or ECG meters, can produce precise and correct data. Thanks to home monitoring, surgery patients, for example, can safely be discharged by giving them measuring equipment that follows their recovery and recuperation. The Mawell S7 self-care solution provides a hardware- and browser-independent web-based application platform for self-care and advice services. Health Gateway is a mobile electronic healthcare solution, which seamlessly transmits patient-doctor communication in real-time between the patient’s home and the hospital’s patient data system. eHIT’s Health Gateway is an effective and secure tool, which transfers measurement data from different measuring devices in the patient’s home for the use of doctors, through a mobile platform and wireless GSM-, GPRS- or 3G network.
