X7 Interoperability & Collaboration

Three doctors discussing Health care digitalization without proper standards has left a diverse IT landscape in its wake. At the same time it is recognized that collaboration between different actors has become essential in order to deliver comprehensive and high-value care – care that results in better health outcomes for the money spent.

Collaboration is hindered by lack of interoperability between systems. 21st century medical technology is not utilized to the fullest if we still have to resort to 19th century practices in collaborative processes. If all the relevant information is not available when and where needed, more delays, unnecessary examinations, inaccurate diagnosis, complications etc. will result – a waste of valuable health care resources.

Mawell X7 Better Interoperability - Better Collaboration - Better Care

Mawell X7 enables a high level of interoperability through streamlined collaborative processes where medical information is exchanged automatically and transparently via secure connections instead of faxes or taxis. Mawell X7 solution can serve patients, healthcare professionals, researchers and hospital executives with the required information when and where needed. It provides a solid foundation for better interoperability and collaboration, resulting in more efficient and better care.

The Mawell X7 solution is based on the principles of the XDS – Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing – a technical framework defined by IHE for sharing clinical documents between institutions. It defines a standard document-sharing infrastructure for health care information systems to utilize.

The XDS standard describes four parts: Registry, Repository, Consumer and Source. With X7 Repository, X7 Registry, X7 SourceIt and X7 ConsumeIt. Mawell X7 encompasses all four of these.
